I will stamp all over 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" the American as the combatants confronted each other to promote the upcoming bout.

Former two time world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Still, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually proceeding.
